I feel Bangalore to Coorg is around 250 kms and as such traveling in a car should not be taxing as the roads are quite good. You may break your lourney for a lunch or snack at Mysore and maybe relax for an hour or so there. Or you also have a Cafe Coffee day at HPCL Outlet on the highway in Kampalapura(around 90 kms from Mysore), where I found it very cosy and inviting with some decent menus.
You may look at the Coorg Hotels & BnB sections to compare the properties based on traveler ratings, budgets, cost and facilities offered to choose which best suits you.
Coorg/Madikeri areas are as such pristine and will have a very inviting ambiance. You may plan short trips around to Thalacauvery (a lil far), Kushal Nagara Tibetian Monastery, Elephant Camp, Abby Falls etc. You may get this list at the things to do section of Madikeri.
