cuboidal epithelial tissue:-

A simple epithelium tissue in which, cells are cube like in shape.

● The nucleus is round in shape.

● Nucleus is present in the center.

Function:-

●It involves in secretion and absorption.

Location:-

● In tubular part of nephron(DCT).

● Duct of glands.

●Thyroid follicle.

● Covering of testes and ovaries, here it is known as "Germinal epithelium".

Modifications in cuboidal epithelium:-

Microvilli:-

Cytoplasmic finger like structural projections, that increases the surface area for absorption.

●The the cuboidal epithelium that possesses microvilli is known as "Brush bordered cuboidal epithelium" due to brush like appearance of microvilli on the cuboidal cell.

●It is present in PCT (Proximal convulated tubule).
