Warren Hastings played an important role in the expansion of the company power. The East India Company had established itself in Bengal; Bombay and Madras. British territories were broadly divided into administrative units called Presidencies.
British Empire started to came to India in 16th Century as a trading company and slowly setting up the Imperial rule in India making it as its colony.

Political Arena-
This was one of the interesting step taken by Britishers to make the Princely state under their supervision.
By the policy of Subsidiary Alliance and Doctrine of Lapse, they took over the control of many states of India in one go. It changed the political structure of India hugely.
Economic Setup -
To magnetize more wealth from India, they introduced various taxing systema which made the peasant landless and gave birth to Commercial Agriculture in India. System of land revenue like Zamindari, Ryotwari and Mahalwari were came into picture which changed the whole scenario of Revenue system in India.
Social Changes-
Though the fetched more wealth from India, but they considered Indian as "Whiteman's Burden". To reform the Indian structure of education they allocated 1 lakh Pound for the first time and introduced Wood's Dispatch of 1854.
Along with it, they abolish the Sati and Child Marriages in India in 1830s.
Hence, these were the changes that made British administration imponderable in India.
