The 3 major cropping seasons of India are:-

1. Rabi Season-

- Crop is grown from  October to March.

- Harvested in summer from April to June.

- Examples of crop grown- wheat, barley, peas, gram and mustard.

2. Kharif Season-

- Crop is grown from July to October.

- Harvested September - October.

- Crops-  paddy, maize, jowar, bajra, arhar, moong, urad, cotton, jute, groundnut and soyabean.

3. Zayed Season-

- Season between the rabi and the kharif (March-June)

- Crops grown- Watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber, vegetables and fodder crops.
