Methane is the smallest saturated hydrocarbons of alkane. firstly when itis react with chlorine it forms ch3cl and then again on chlorination it forms ch2cl2 and again on reaction with chlorine it forms chcl3 (chlorofom) and lastly it forms tetra Chloromethane ccl4.
