The Aravalli Hills lie on the western and north-western borders of the peninsular plateau. They spread from Gujarat to Delhi in a southwest-north east direction. They are the oldest fold mountains in India. These hills are extremely eroded and are known as broken hills. The Indian desert lies on the western limits of the Aravalli Hills.Rivers like Banas, Sakhi, Luna, Sabarmati, etc. originate from the Aravalli ranges.
