It's an Indian governmental body created in 1964 for addressing governments corruption.
In 2003, Parliament enacted law conferring statutory status on CVC.
It's status is an autonomous body free of control from executive authority charged with monitoring all vigilance activity under Central Government of
India and advising different authorities in Central Government companies in planning, executing, reviewing and reforming and vigilance work.
