Cloning➙ The process of producing one or more genetically-identical individuals.
===========================⤵
❖ A clone is any cell or individual which is identical to another.
❖ This was first achieved in mammals with the famous Dolly the sheep.
❖ The reproductive cloning technologyused to create animals is called somatic cell nuclear transfer
❖ It is the process of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals that occurs in nature when organisms such as bacteria, insects or plants reproduce asexually.

Answer:
In biotechnology Cloning is the process of generating a genetically identical copy of a cell or an organism. In biomedical research, cloning is broadly defined to mean the duplication of any kind of biological material for scientific study, such as a piece of DNA or an individual cell.
Dolly was a female domestic sheep, and the first mammal cloned from an adult somatic cell. The clone was produced at the Roslin Institute, near Edinburgh in 2003. Dolly give birth to a lamb which was named Bonnie.
