The impact of the Great Depression on India was widespread . Indian trade immediately got affected due to the Great Depression .Though agriculture prices fell sharply but the colonial govt. did not reduce revenue demands. It eventually affected the peasants.
Rural india was thus seething with unrest when Gandhiji launched the civil diobediance mov. at height of depression in 1931.
