demerits of the Green Revolution
1. loss of soil fertility due to increased use of chemical fertilizers
2. the chemical fertilizers easily soluble in water can dissolve in the groundwater and pollute it.

Merits :
1 - It help to increase in production .
2- Increase in farmers income.
3- Living standard of farmer has changed.
4- Increase in per hectare yield.
5-Indian have become self dependent.
Demerits
1- It reduce the soil fertility sia to regular use of chemical fertilizer.
2- Water level has reduce due to continuous use of water.
