☞ Early Humans covered their bodies with leaves and the skins of animals.Then,they learnt to weave twigs and grass into material to cover their bodies with . Eventually,people realised that the material from the cotton plant could be used to make cloth.Initially, spinning and weaving was done by hand.The people of ancient India wore fabrics made of cotton.The Egyptians cultivated cotton and plant called flax,which was also used to make cloth.
After the invention of the stitching needle,people started stitching fabrics to make clothes such as blouses and shirts.Later, machines were invented to spin,weave and stitch clothes.
