Two constraints operated in the US hegemony are institutional architecture of American state (division of power) and open nature of American Society

Operating within the hegemonic system to take advantage of the opportunities that it creates which is known as 'bandwagon' strategy. (ii) Staying as far removed from the dominant power as possible.
