Tropical rainforests are rainforests that occur in areas of tropical rainforest climate in which there is no dry season – all months have an average precipitation of at least 60 mm – and may also be referred to as lowland equatorial evergreen rainforest. Forest people also drink less water because their food contains a lot of water. They know how to use thousands of edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants and how to grow crops in the forest's poor soil. They also know how to hunt and fish without driving the animals to extinction. The Equatorial Climate is characterized by hot average temperature all year round and high monthly precipitation, typically no less than 60 mm a month with annual precipitation tending to be over 2000mm. The diurnal temperature range is greater than the annual temperature range. Another name for the Tropical Rainforest is the jungle. The tropical rainforest biome has four main characteristics: very high annual rainfall, high average temperatures, nutrient-poor soil, and high levels of biodiversity (species richness). Rainfall: The word “rainforest” implies that these are the some of the world's wettest ecosystems.
