JHUM CULTIVATION
OR
SHIFTING CULTIVATION
JHUM cultivation was two known as shifting cultivation in this cultivation tribals people move from one place to another for their cultivation because if they cultivate one land then the nutrients of that land will become less then they are shifting to other land so first land will get nutrients after some years so they are getting back to their first land and this is the rotation going on but the East India Company cannot collect tax from the trader which are you doing shifting cultivation so the East India Company make a rule that the forest is not your own forest please forest is of state and some forest are reserve forest so you cannot do cultivation here so there is a loss of traders after some time the British thought that who will take care of the forest when there will not traders in the forest so the British given forest to every trader and said them to do cultivation here and take care of forest but your money which you will get you will need to provide that money to British
