Answer:

The Varendra rebellion, also known as the Kaivarta revolt, refers to the uprising against King Mahipala II that was headed by the feudal lord of Northern Bengal and Kaivarta chieftain Divokka (Divya). Through this uprising, the Kaivartas were able to take Varendra. The uprising may have been the first in Indian history to involve peasants.

Explanation:

One of the most well-known uprisings in Bengali history is the Kaivarta Revolt.

In the year 1070 AD, Mahipala II took over as Vigrahapala III's successor. There were numerous foreign invasions during the previous reign. There was an air of collapse. Therefore, Mahipala II was confronted with issues right away. During his rule, conspiracies and uprisings became into a constant process that ultimately resulted in his removal.

The events that led to Mahipala's downfall were described in the modern book "Ramacharita." Mahipala put his two brothers Ramapala and Surapala in prison based on a fabricated allegation of a conspiracy. The vassal chiefs were enraged by this and promptly rose up in revolt against him.
