While the west is becoming a place for the old, India has a huge reserve of adolescent and child population. If proper education and commensurate jobs cannot be provided, we would naturally consider this to be a matter of grave concern as the adolescents would use their energy in a negative and unproductive or destructive manner. On the other hand, if we provide them with remunerative tasks, we could achieve huge success in taking the country forward. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to set up industry in untapped areas and engage the youth in nation building; the cases in point are the north-eastern part of the country and the state of Jammu & Kashmir, which have, over the years, been witnessing volatile protests and destruction of institutions.
