Answer: National power is defined as the sum of all resources available to a nation in the pursuit of national objectives.

Natural resources such as water, sources of energy, land, and minerals act as the most important elements of national power. Availability of sufficient natural resources is essential for a country to promote its industrial and commercial power.  India's most important natural resources such as Coal which is considered as 4th biggest reserves in the world, Iron ore, Manganese Ore which is the 7th largest reserve, Mica, Bauxite, Chromite, Natural gas, Diamonds, Limestone and Thorium act as the biggest element of national power in India.

In fact, the economic and technological advancement of countries and the variation in their growth was prompted by the availability of natural resources in the country.

Even though today the method of globalization helped with the availability of natural resources worldwide, but the world economy still relied on natural resources. Those countries, which can access to natural resources, particularly fossil fuels, such as petroleum and gas, can help the countries such as India to progress at a fast pace.  While those, which have confined possibilities to use natural resources are doomed to backwardness.
