Peninsular plateau is triangular in shape, where apex of the triangular plateau is located at Kanyakumari, and cover 16 lack sq km of area and 600 - 900 m of hight above the sea level. It is composed mostly, Archean gneisses and schists. It is an accumulation of many number of smaller plateaus, hills ranges distribute with river basins and valley. There are many minor plateus present, such as; Manwar plateaus in the eastern rajasthan, upraise 250-500 m above the sea level, central highland or Madhya Bharat pathar contain the basin of chambal river, upraised 300-600 m above the sea level, Malwa plateau surrounded in the west of Aravali Range, Baghelkhand  located in the Maikal range, Chotanagpur  plateau located in Jharkhand, and found 700m above the sea level and Meghalaya plateau located in the north-west of Satpura and the Vindhya, and in the north of the Mahadev and the Maikal, in the west of Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats in the east.
