gandhiji matched sabarmati to dandi for broken a salt law .

he started his journey with his 78 volunteers.

during 1928, gandhji with 78 protestors marched from dandi to his sabarmati ashram in order to protest against high taxes on goods. so gandhi ji set the salt as the medium to protest against britishers. they reached the costal area and took handfull of salt and briked the salt law
