Staining Technique

Staining technique is the technique of using coloured dyes such as methylene blue, eosin, fast green, safranin, etc to colour the parts of the cell. Staining technique helps in highlighting the biological tissues and specific regions in the cell, thus making it easier for us to view the cells. Therefore, the slides are generally stained and then covered with a coverslip.

Below is the procedure to be followed while using a microscope :

1. The mirror of the microscope should be first cleaned to make the view clear.

2. Place the slide in a appropriate position.

3. Adjust the lenses with the help of your lab assistant.

4. Observe the sample through the eyepiece.
