Bishmillah khan got the national awards like padmashri,padmabushan,padmashri vibhushan. In 2001 he was awarded the highest civillan award the Bharat ratna . he was the first indian to be invited to to perform at the prestigious linclon center Hall in USA. And he also took part in oska trade fair. And an auditorium in Teheran was named after him -tahar mosiquee ustaad bishmillah khan. He was also given many memorable award . his first trip to abroad was in Afghanistan. He was awarded the priceless Persian carpets and other souvenirs.
