There are four basic forces.
1.Gravity - this force acts between all mass in the universe and it has infinite range.
2.The strong force - the force binds neutrons and protons together in the cores of atoms and is a strong range force.
3.Electromagnetic - this acts between electrically charged particles.
4.Weak force - this force is responsible for nuclear beta decay and other similar decay process involving fundamental particles.
