a) Northern Indian Plains :

the Northern Plains are drained by three river systems - The Indus, Ganga, and  The Brahmaputra along with their tributaries. They deposit alluvial soil in a vast basin lying at the foothills of  The Himalayas. It covers a distance of 3200 km. It's 300 to 150 km wide at some places. they form the world's largest and fastest-growing delta. The Northern Indian plains are divided into four zones: 1) Bhabar, 2) Tarai, 3) Bangar 4) Khadar.

b) Peninsular Plateau :

it was formed due to the breaking and drifting of the Gondwana land and thus, making it a part of the oldest landmass. The part of Peninsular plateau lying to the North of Narmada river covering a major area of the Malwa plateau called Central Highlands. Peninsular Plateau contains Western and Eastern Ghats folded by the volcanic activities in the area
