when indigo is grown on land it barren the land . and no other crops like wheat, rice etc can be grown . only indigo is grown on this land . also indigo making process is very long .

Explanation:

Indian Farmers were forced to grow Indigo. Indigo planters (british) ordered Indians to frow indigo in atleast 25% or 75% of their total land. Indigo cultivation required time and labour. After the cultivation, rice could not be grown on that same land. British Government accepted their fault when thousands of farmers were against it. They said that it is upon their choice that they want to grow indigo or not.
