Persome and Bishop are real brother and sister,but due to the difference in their thinking, they have a sweet and sour relationship. Persome often gets angry with the Bishop due to his Benevolent nature. She feels protective towards the Bishop and gets angry at Marie for making him visit her mother at such late hours in cold weather. She taunts the Bishop that one day he would even sell his dear silver candlesticks to help others. The Bishop shows respect towards his sister. He promises her that he would never do that as they remind of their mother. He cares for his sister's concerns, but gives more importance to helping others.
