The Delhi Revolt

The 1857 Delhi revolt was an Indian rebellion against the British authority and control of the East India Company which had been manifested in the Northern part of India. The British army attacked and was met with stiff resistance, but by September 21st, 1857 Delhi came under the control of the British. It resulted in the death of over 5,000 Indian while 40,000 were wounded. On, the other hand there were over 1200 British deaths, while 4,600 soldiers were wounded.
