In the beginning of the era, India saw the rise of different kingdoms in India. As around 1000 BCE Magadha became a leading power in north India. And soon it became a symbol of power. At first the great kings Bimbisara, Ajatshatru and then Nanda and Shishunaga dynasties ruled the kingdom. At last the Maurya dynasty gave a lasy finish and the great kingdom was plundered to pieces.
