The term, ' non - alignment also referred to as ' cold war '. It means not to participate in any kind of violence.

As during 18th cE, Gandhi ji spreads the peace and termed the word ' alignment ' as an evil. It helps to spread peac all around

Non alignment is introduced only for maintaining world peace . If main objective is only to eliminate all  those causes which could lead to war and to advocate peaceful settlement of international disputes . this policy is mainly to be followed by the newly independent countries mainly of Asia and Africa to protect and preserve their newly acquired independence from the super power rivalry .
