By the year 1939, TISCO was considered to be the largest steel plant in the British Empire.
In the year 1951, a major modernization and expansion program was launched by TISCO.
Between the years 1971 and 1979, there were attempts to nationalize the company.
By 1990, the expansion of the company was in full swing with its subsidiary, Tata Inc. being opened in New York.
