Tom and Jerry is an animated series created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara. the creation of it dates back to 1940. the two main characters, Tom and Jerry are the rivalries in the show. The fights between them are very comical and fun to watch.

Tom is a house cat whereas Jerry is a mouse. The plots usually centre on Tom's countless attempts to catch Jerry, in which Tom scarcely succeeds. There are also few stories which feature their true friendship. Tom uses violent means to capture Jerry at times. And Jerry's reply would be far more violent.

Tom was named Jasper in his debut appearance and Jerry as Jinx. Tam and Jerry rarely speaks. Tom sings to woo the female cats.

Speaking about other characters, Tom often had to come across Spike to catch Jerry. Spike is a bulldog who tries attacking Tom to save his son, Tyke. There is also a black cat Butch who also wants to eat Jerry. Nibbles is a small mouse who is Jerry's nephew.

"Tom and Jerry" was a common phrase for riotous youngsters in 19th century London.

Tom and Jerry a famous american animated cartoon channel and Tom and Jerry famous characters of this cartoon channel. Tom and Jerry are two central characters of the cartoon and this cartoon is screened in the movie theatres previously.

The cartoon was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940. United States is the country of origin of this cartoon. This channel was shown on February 20, 1940 for the first time. In 2001 and 2005 two special editions of this cartoon were made. Tom is Jasper in his debut appearance and Jerry is Jinx. Tom and Jerry started to be seen in the books in 1942 and then Tom and Jerry video games were also made.

Tom is a grey white haired cat while his friend type enemy-Jerry is a small brown mouse who mostly lives in his own made hole in Tom's house. When Tom runs after Jerry in order to catch him, that scene is very funny to see. Tom and Jerry cartoon's are specially known for the friendly violence shown.

Tom is very large, big and energetic but has no match with Jerry's intelligence. Jerry being so small is so much energetic and intelligent. Many times we see that cats catch the rats. Here it is totally opposite Tom always fails to catch Jerry. Tom always tries to catch Jerry with many clever ideas but Jerry is even more witty,he also doesn't leave Tom.

We have many more characters in Tom and Jerry other than Tom and Jerry. We have a bull dog with us in the cartoon named 'Spike', a cat 'Butch'. 'Nibbles' a small mouse and some more which just make the cartoon wonderful.

Spike is always very angry towards Tom because he always disturbs him and when he is busy in catching Jerry, he mess the work which Spike is doing at the time and also to save his son from Tom. Spike's son name is a Tyke.

Nibbles is a mouse and Jerry's nephew. He is also called as Tuffy. He is a grey blue mouse who is always wearing a diaper.

Dutch is a brown dog. Who wants to eat Jerry.

Finally Tom and Jerry is a wonderful cartoon channel and the fact is that Tom can't live without Jerry and Jerry can't live without Tom. Although they fight very much but it is said that the people who fights often is having a strong relation of friendship among them.
