Triangulation method :- triangulation method is used to determine astronomical distance. Which uses thr geometrical properties of triangle in a plane .if we have to find distance of stars from the sun . Then, use formula , S = D/θ , where S indicates distance of star from the sun . D is the diameter of Earth's orbit around the sun and θ is parallax angle.
Radar method :- radar method is also known as echo method. Let S is the distance between observer and ship. Time taken to reach the sound from observer to ship is t .
Then, total distance travelled = 2S
Time taken = t
And speed of sound = u
We know, speed = distance/time taken
u = 2S/t ,
S = vt/2 , it is used to find distance between object (ship or anything) under the ocean
