Variation of atomic Radius in periods in modern periodic table:-

Along the periods or moving from left to right atomic radii decreases an vice-versa up to halogen only.

Whereas innert gas have large radius because of Vandar Waal's radius where as rest elements has covalent radius. And Vandar Waal's radius is greater than covalent radius.

In the period shell reamins constant but number of proton or nuclear charge increases due to which atomic size decreases along the period.
