Regarding the evolution of the epidemic phenomenon linked to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, it is recommended that the GSSI community as well as the broader public comply with the following protective measures provided by WHO – World Health Organization.
Keep all PPEs and mask on. Obligation to wear the mask in open and closed spaces
Wash your hands frequently. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub if your hands are not visibly dirty.
Practice respiratory hygiene. When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately into a closed bin and clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
Maintain social distancing. Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and other people, particularly those who are coughing, sneezing and have a fever.
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth. Hands touch many surfaces which can be contaminated with the virus.
In case of possible symptoms of infection and fever over 37.5 °C, please stay home and avoid going to the hospital or to the doctor’s office, but contact the toll-free number 1500 (operational 24/7), provided by the Italian Ministry of Health or, if you are in the province of L’Aquila, the toll-free number 800 169 326 (operational all days from 8 am to 8 pm).
