Answer:

let, first number be x

and the other number = x+(7+1) = x+8

B.T.P

(x) × (x + 8) = -12

= x² + 8x +12 =0

= x² + 6x +2x +12 = 0

= x(x+6) + 2(x+6) = 0

= (x+6) (x+2) = 0

x+6=0

=> x= -6

or,

x+2 = 0

=> x = -2

therefore, x + 8 = -2+8=6

or, x+ 8 = -6 +8 = 2

hence,

the two numbers are

either, 2 and -6

or, -2 and 6
