I find listening to a lecture as a downside of education in institutes. It is because not every lecturer is good at addressing a topic to the students and some of them lack in public speaking as a whole. Since lecture-based learning is normally done in a classroom, there is not lot of engaging of most of the students in the classroom, and mostly the students in the front row are the ones that a lecturer engages with. Moreover, this type of learning also establishes only a limited number of skills in a student, and skills like critical thinking and creativity, are given less importance or attention in the classroom.
