mortar-rice turned into-filth-broke the mortar-burnt it-Again dog appeared-

dream-take the ashes –sprinkle on withered trees-revive –put out flowers.​

Explanation:

• Village people are usually honest in their work especially the elder ones. They are also very friendly. One day a new couple moved into the village. Their house was quite covetous. They borrowed their neighbor's dog for protecting the sheep at night.  

• However, their intentions were quite different when it came to the dog. They kept him hungry until the dog died. At night, the dog appeared in the old man's dream and told him the truth.  

• In the morning, the old man went to his nearest pine tree along with a mortar and pestle. He was grounding the rice when the wicked couple came by to distract him and broke his mortar and burnt the tree.

• But to everyone's surprise, out of the ashes appeared the dog and the burnt tree started blooming again.
