I like the rainy season most. It is my favourite and best season among all four seasons. It comes after summer season, a very hot season of the year. I become very restless in the summer season because of too much heat, warm air and skin problem. However, all the problems become over as soon as rainy season comes. Rainy season falls in the month of July (Hindi month of Shawan) and stays for three months long. It is the lucky season for all and everyone loves and enjoys it. In this season we enjoy eating naturally ripen sweet mangoes. We also celebrate Many Indian festivals with great enthusiasm in this season.

Agriculture is the main occupation of the Indians. A large part of our population is engaged in agricultural activities. Rain plays an important role in growing and nurturing the crops well.
A large number of Indian farmers depend on the rain water for carrying out agricultural activities and thus rainy season holds special importance for them. Their livelihood is largely dependent on the rains. This is particularly true for the farmers who grow crops such as rice and sugarcane as they require heavy rainfall. There are also crops that require less rain. These are all sown during different times of the year.
Farmers and their families pray for adequate amount of rainfall to meet their requirement. Both lack of rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall can impact their crops badly.
The growing scarcity of water has increased the problem of the agriculturists who look forward to the rains even for rearing their animals. The livestock requires a lot of water for the purpose of cleaning and drinking. The rainy season thus comes as a respite for them as their requirement of water is met by the rains during this season.
Rainy season in India is thus most awaited by the agriculturists than anyone else in our country.
