The difference between house and home is the difference between soul and body. As both soul and body together make life alive, in the same manner house becomes home with the soul of family members. In simple words house can be termed as a structure made up of walls, roof, windows, doors, rooms, lawn, etc.; however a house becomes a home when it is inhabited and enlivened by the presence of family members. A house becomes home when the echoes of children’s laughter’s can be heard in it. A house becomes a home when the mother cooks delicious dinner in the kitchen and serves it to her family members.

There is grammatically no major difference between the home and the house.

However by meaning house we describe a structure and by expressing the word home we bring out our attachments and feelings with it. We can compare them with the body and the soul. If the house is considered as the body, the home is the soul for the feelings and emotions are attached to great extent.
