People of different caste, creed, colour, customs, and cultures live here in peace and harmony. It is one of the biggest democracies in the world. It has friendly relations with the countries of the world. It is emerging as an economic power. It has made ties with major trading companies in the world. Its location is very favourable for trade and commerce.
It is proud to have the oldest civilisation in the world. It is known to have the oldest republic as well. It is the biggest and most successful democracy in the world. It was the centre of learning and education in ancient India. People from different parts of the world came here to acquire knowledge. It is the birth place of three religions—Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism. It is the country which made the world familiar with the philosophy of non-violence and truth. Today, Buddhism is a popular religion in many countries of the world. It is the land of seers and saints. Great saints like Manu, Mahavir, Guru Nanak, Buddha, Chaitanya, Kabir, Rahim, etc were born in India. They gave in world the message of peace, love, harmony, and brotherhood. They gave the society a new direction.
India is my mother country. I love my motherland view much. India is a very big country. From the Himalaya] down to Kanyakumari, India spreads out over a vast area. She spreads out from the Assam Hills in the east the Bay of Kutch in the west.
India's population is about a hundred crores. Mostly India's population lives in villages. Agriculture is the main source of income of the villagers.
India has a rich culture. She is an ancient land. Si| possesses rich traditions. India has shown the path (light to other countries. India is proud of her ancient literature - the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Bhagwat and the Puranas.
India was known as the 'Golden Sparrow' as she possessed rich natural resources. India has a vast system of rivers and canals. We produce wheat, rice, oil seeds, cotton and spices. India has beautiful mountain ranges, deep forests, flora and fauna and the rich fields. India got freedom in 1947 after a great freedom struggle. India is now a glorious land.
