The only news channel that does not toe a pre-decided line of thought is DD National. Though it is owned by the government, surprisingly, it comes across as a fair channel that weighs both the pros and cons of a particular event or issue. Also, the areas covered include aspects important to the nation, including development in rural areas. The focus is on important news rather than on sensationalising frivolous news. Additionally, the anchors are well trained and speak with clarity. Many channels employ substandard newsreaders and hosts, who lack clarity of speech. Additionally, DD news maintains dignity and opinions, news and debates are presented in a dignified manner, without the host or the guests trying to mute the voice of others. To sum it up, it is my favourite news channel because of the content aired and the manner in which news is broadcast, besides being a reliable source of information.
