This traditional statement can be interpreted two ways. The most common interpretation is that the friend who helps you when you are in difficulties is a good friend. The other is that persons who want something badly will pretend to be your friends, so as to use this relationship to their own advantage.

Answer:

Friends are important to all of us to tide us over the bad times and to celebrate with us the good times. We need friends whom we can trust and who will wish us good. But sometimes it is difficult to tell a true friend apart from a bad friend. It is easy to maintain friendships when everything is going well. Many people benefit from our success and would stay with us for that reason. If you get good grades people may befriend you for notes. If you throw parties people may flock main to you to get invited and tested when hard times fall upon us.In such situations we find those people standing with us who genuinely care for us. They do not change as circumstances change. They remain loyal and steadfast in the love and concern. they go out of their way to help us out. The proverbial 'friend in need' is a valuable friend and we must be equally true today mean our friendship.
