The harmful effects of plastic bags are numerous and it affects human, all living organisms, soil, water, air, and the entire ecosystem. Due to the toxic chemical composition of plastic bags, its exposure causes illnesses like birth defects, cancer, and other systemic illness.
Plastic bags also affect animals, birds, and aquatic organisms. Microplastic particles in the plastic bags pollute the soil and change the natural soil content into toxic content. Similarly, microplastic particles pollute the groundwater.
The burning of plastic bags hugely pollutes the air as it releases the toxic chemicals out. Plastic bags take a long time to decompose and hence it should be avoided strictly.

Answer:
As we know plastics are non-biodegradable material and thus do not easily decompose.
It usually pollutes the surfaces wherever it is thrown. We people, usually throw our household garbages as the peels of fruits and vegetables putting into it on the road or anywhere else. So the animals like cows and buffalos consume the peels alongwith the plastics and the plastic consumed do not get digested and causes infections and becomes a severe cause for their death.
Another problem with these plastics is this that usually in rainy or any time you can notice,
the plastics thrown on the roads or the roadside
floats and get stuck in to the drain pipes or gutter channels and causes the overflow of waste water and becomes a major cause of mosquitoes birth.
I hope you got your point exemplified!!!!
