An ecosystem is said to be balanced, when living and non living things are said to be in harmony [peace].
For example :
All the organisms in an ecosystem derive energy from food to live.The sun is the main source of energy for all living things.Plants trap this energy trough photosynthesis.Animals do get this directly from sun.
Many animals eat plants which uses sunlight to make food.Animals that do not eat plants still depend on the energy of sunlight as they eat other plant eaters.Hence sunlight is transmitted.
An ecosystem is balanced when the biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) parts of the ecosystem are in equilibrium. This means that the nutrients are able to cycle efficiently, and no community of organisms or natural phenomena is interrupting the flow of energy and nutrients to other parts of the ecosystem.
