it was on November 8, 2015, when the Chennai floods started.first it rained, we imagined it would stop, but we were wrong.it poured down like anything causing power cut offs in the city, leading to no communication.low-lying areas like , Saidapet,Velachery started to fill with rain water.280 people died , many lost their houses.the water in Adyar dam was overflowing , so the water was released overnight , where many died in silence . 14 patients in a hospital too passed away. lots of celebrities , NGO's and common people itself started to distribute food, water , clothes , blankets and many opened their houses to the poor. some people had no food no water for days
