Delhi is known for the monuments like Red Fort and Qutub Minar. Delhi is also known for its pollution. So, we will see Delhi before and during lockdown. On 24th March, 2020, India announced the complete lockdown in the country. The lockdown norms are very strict in each and every city which ban the people for stepping out from their home. People faces so many economical challenges during the lockdown. Many businesses are shut down but the positive thing observed during the lockdown that there is improvement in the air quality. We all know that rapid urbanization, industrialization, and commercialization in Delhi results in deteriorating its ambient air quality. Delhi is declared as one of the most polluted city in the world by WHO. In Delhi, the high levels of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides are always a severe threat for public health because of its exceeding value from the permissible limit. During the lockdown, all industrial, vehicular and commercial activities were restricted so, that provides ideal condition for the extent of pollution and there is good improvement on the quality of air.
