the Diwali is a great Hindi festival. it means a row of lamps. it comes in the last week of october or in the begining of November. it is celebrated in honour of lord rama' s return to ayodhya after fourteen years of exile.
great preparations are made to celebrate the festival. people clean their homes. at night earthen lamps and candles are lighted. it is a beautiful sight.they send presents to their friends and relatives.
people put on their best clothes.they look very cheerful. children let off fireworks in the evening. at night the Hindus worship Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and pray for happiness.
