the greenhouse effect keeps the earth's surface warmer. The outgoing heat is blocked by the layer of carbon dioxide and water vapour present in the air. The excess pollutants in the atmosphere have formed this layer. Due to this trapped energy, the earth is getting warmer gradually. It is known as global warming.
