Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born on 22nd December, 1666 in Patna, Bihar. His father's name was Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh. His mother's name was Mata Gujri. He was the tenth Sikh Guru. He became the leader of the Sikhs at the age of nine. He got married to Mata Jitto. He had four sons. He worked a lot for the development of Sikhism. He founded the 'Khalsa Panth' on Baisakhi in 1699. He died on 7th October, 1708. His birthplace, 'Patna Sahib' is an important pilgrimage for the Sikhs.
