Here health refers to both physical as well as mental health. Also, only a healthy person can enjoy his wealth. If a person is not healthy then he can’t do anything with his money.
He can buy food but can’t eat it; he can buy tickets to a movie, but don’t feel good enough to watch it; he wants to take a walk in the park, but unable to do so due to poor health. Only he knows that all his wealth can’t buy him good health. He also understands the true value of health. Such a person very well knows the true worth of good health.
Proverb clearly states that health is more important than wealth. Consider yourself wealthy if you are in good health. But you are still poor with lots of wealth if your health isn’t good. Good health is truly the real money a person can have. A life spent in good health is much more worthy than the one spends in riches but with poor health. A healthy person is always positive and feels good about him.
An unhealthy person, despite being wealthy, always feels unhappy and sad. He very well knows what he lacks in life and wishes he could exchange all his wealth with good health. True that wealth brings prosperity and happiness, but all that is worth only if one is healthy
