Answer:This year I celebrated Diwali a little differently. I enjoyed it more than ever. The entire family was busy shopping, decorating the house, and in the Diwali celebration preparation. This year the Green and Clean Diwali campaign was in full swing; so I decided to celebrate Diwali in eco-friendly manner. I decided that I would not let off any crackers. I also appealed to my brothers, sisters, cousins and friends not to explode any crackers.
This Diwali I also looked after my health. I didn’t eat any adulterated sweets. I ate only home-made sweets. All of us need to celebrate Diwali without polluting the environment. The pollution levels in metropolitan cities have arisen alarmingly, posing serious health hazards to people. Celebrating clean Diwali has become the need of the hour. We don’t have any second option.

Diwali is the festival of light. It commemorates the victorious return of the legendary King Rama with his most beautiful and chaste wife Sita and his dedicated and devoted younger brother Laxman. Rama had been in exile for fourteen years. It is then that he confronted the powerful demon King Ravana. Rama had killed Ravana ultimately and had put an end to the evil. Diwali is thus celebrated as the festival of good over evil.
This year Diwali was wonderful. We had just finished our exams. We decided to celebrate an eco friendly Diwali.
We lit earthen lamps instead of Chinese plastic bulbs. We did not burst crackers to avoid air and noise pollution. We distributed sweets in paper bags instead of plastic ones. We did not play loud music on the speaker as it frightens the birds. So this Diwali was one of the most productive Diwalis of my life.
